At Sunset Cruises, we believe that Stafford County has some of the most beautiful and historical waterways in the country. We created Sunset Cruises so that we could share our passion for the water with our community. Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night, a relaxing cruise with your friends, or a fun adventure for the family, Sunset Cruises is the perfect experience to bring you and your crew closer together.
Meet the Crew
Sunset Cruises is a family owned and operated business. We turned our passion for spending time together on the water into a business that allows other families to create lifelong memories.
Captain Dale is a lifelong boater and avid fisherman. He’s certified by the US Coast Guard and in CPR/First Aid.
Mrs. Caroline is the First Mate of our ship! She also oversees all of our business operations.
There are two Deckhands named Jane and Whitney.

Finally made it to the sunset cruises of stafford after watching the boat go by so many times before. It was a great experience and highly recommend this local family owned company. Captain Dale is funny and very accommodating. Already planning our next family cruise later this month. We own a deck boat but this was a different experience. We enjoyed cruising and Exploring the Aquia Creek and learning some interesting facts about the area.S & C
We had an amazing time on our Father's Day cruise! Captain Dale was very accommodating, funny, and informative. We learned a little more about our neighborhood and surrounding area. We even got to see a bald eagle and osprey catch their dinner! We are looking forward to more cruises.
We went for a Father's Day night out and had a wonderful time! Capt. Dale was great, easygoing, fun, and knowledgeable regarding the area, the boat, birds we saw, any really anything we talked about, from beautiful homes and properties to history for the area.Boat ride was very relaxing and scenic, weather perfect!We highly recommend!!Thank you!
Captain Dale is awesome. I have been on Sunset Cruises 3 times and I will be back again. You will have a blast. Bring some food and drinks. Highly recommend!
We greatly enjoyed time with another couple for an evening out! The inside cabin was plenty warm on this chilly spring evening. Dale was a perfect host and chimed in with some history at just the right moments. A great way to see the waterway in Stafford County!

If in the Stafford area I highly recommend this cruise! Takes you back in time to a slower pace, very relaxing, and beautiful scenery. Even though it was November 30th in Virginia it was 55 degrees outside so we were able to enjoy the slow pace cruise sitting outdoors. Captain Dale couldn't have been more accommodating. It was just an amazing beautiful experience, and I will definitely have all my guests do this cruise.
Had a fabulous ride on the water with Captain Dale. The views are amazing, in addition to the beautiful fall foliage, we got to see several eagles, osprey, heron, and an adorable fox. The sunset was spectacular and the boat was perfectly equipped for a chilly fall day. 💯% recommend!

We absolutely recommend this remarkable experience.
We had such a great time on this ride. The views were amazing and all of this in our area where we didn't have to endure traffick on 95. It was so easy to get to. Dale was very nice, knowledgeable and my teens even got to steer the boat. We will definitely do this again. The ride is very smooth and calm and if you want to enjoy it from inside, there is a nice seating area inside. My son relaxed on the couch while looking outside.I would definitely recommend anyone who lives in or near Stafford to do this!
Wonderful experience! They are equipped for any weather. Nice cozy houseboats on the water. Captain Dale was entertaining for the whole three hour tour. Lots of wildlife: eagles, osprey, ducks, heron, and beaver! Caroline has outfitted the boat nicely! Would 💯 recommend! Gorgeous sunset on the water!
What a fantastic opportunity for relaxation and family time on the water with Sunset Cruises of Stafford. Captain Dale knows the waters and his boat well! I felt comfortable and the boat was such a smooth ride. My husband and I saw some cool wildlife - a beautiful heron was my favorite to see. I think the book club or wine club would be a future opportunity to meet up here. Date night with the family is also a great option. We loved meeting and supporting local family business owners too. We will be back!!!

Absolute blast. Need to see all the great houses in Aquia and get out to see the Maryland Coast or one of the other great sights.

Amazing experience. Such a serene and peaceful ride first thing with our morning coffee. If you’re looking to relax and have a great experience this is the ride for you. The Captain and his wife were both amazing. We stayed at their Air BnB the night before as well. Altogether it’s an experience family will talk about for years to come. We will definitely be back next year.
